A
very important responsibility the Loyalhanna

that of educating the community
within the watershed. From
classrooms to trailside, to
formal meetings, LWA staff
members are always willing to
share information and engage
watershed citizens of all ages
in water quality education. If
you are interested in having the
LWA visit your club, classroom,

Macroinvertebrate
Monitoring Program
|
|
| |
The
macroinvertebrate monitoring program
has grown by leaps and bounds since
it began in the spring of 2004. LWA
is pleased to offer stream-side and
classroom programs geared for
middle-high school students in
nearby school districts. Students
have the opportunity to perform
kick-netting collection techniques,
and learn basic identification of
many aquatic "critters."
Water quality tests on stream pH and
dissolved oxygen are also performed.

Participating students must reside
